QLD:Palmer confident of Qld mine approval
Mining magnate CLIVE PALMER is adamant his eight billion dollar Waratah Coal project
in central Queensland will be approved within months, despite an outcry by environmentalists.
His China One project in the Galilee Basin west of Rockhampton is in the Bimblebox
Nature Refuge, which has been handed over to the state government as a nature reserve.
Mr PALMER says there's nothing there of any environmental significance.
He also brushed off reports that rare finches had been spotted on the reserve, saying
they can fly away anyway.
