Brave new world: TNT launches high-definition offering.(What's on HDTV: the Spring 2004 guide)(Turner Network Television)

Theatrical movies and pro basketball..that's what you'll see on TNT's high-def channel when it launches. TNT HD will debut with the NBA Western Conference finals May 19 or May 21, depending on the playoff schedule.

TNT has ventured into HD before, producing the NBA All-Star Game in HD for the last two seasons. But a dedicated 24/7 channel is a challenge. TNT joins Bravo, ESPN, and Discovery as the only ad-supported cable networks with existing separate HD feeds.
